The theme for Marinas 2011 is New Horizons.
While the program is still to be finalised there have been a diverse selection of presenters confirmed to date who will provide delegates with there in depth knowledge on a range of topics covering new techniques – new technologies, maintenance programs, upland boat storage, dredging, managing risk, know your customer, marina management structures - commercial, club and strata title and cooperative marketing and industry/government partnerships. Also included in the program will be a workshop that will assist you to deal with the new social media trends that have now become an important aspect for most businesses.

This will be held at the MCEC on Monday 20th June in the exhibition pre function area and provides an excellent network opportunity for sponsors, exhibitor and delegates while overlooking the Yarra River. The conference gala dinner will be held at the MCEC adjacent to the exhibition hall. The night will be a great social event with guest entertainment and forms an important part of the conference program. Also an author and columnist, Bill is a noted expert presenter on management and leadership. Prior to taking the helm at Correct Craft, Inc. he spent 20 years as an executive with renowned yacht building and service company Roybovich Spencer.

Trevor Rowe - Executive Chairman of Rothschild Australia Limited
Previous to joining Rothschild, Mr Rowe was at Citigroup Global Markets and held numerous senior positions with Salomon Smith Barney over a period of some 23 years living and working in New York, Asia and Australia.
Mr Rowe is currently Chairman of the Bond University Board of Trustees, United Group Limited, BrisConnections, Careers Australia Group Pty Limited and Gotalk Limited. He also hold a position as Member of the Board of Guardians of the Future Fund of Australia and Samsung Investments Global Advisory Council.
Mr Rowe was awarded the Commonwealth of Australia Centenary Medal for ‘distinguished service to the finance industry’.; the 2004 Queen’s Birthday honours of Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for 'his contribution to the investment banking sector and in June 2009 the Honorary Doctorate of the University from Bond University.
Joseph J. Ueberroth – President, Bellwether Financial Group Inc.
Joe succeeded early by applying the hospitality model of management to the marina industry. As a result, his company Bellport soon managed yacht clubs and resort marinas worldwide. From 2003, as CEO of public travel company Ambassadors International he guided a successful expansion via acquisitions including cruise lines, Bellport and Bellingham Marine.
After leaving Ambassadors in 2009, Joe purchased the group’s marine assets. He now serves on the boards of one public and seven private companies.
Lyndall De Marco – Adjunct Professor, Griffith University Centre for Tourism, Sport and Service Innovation
One of the hospitality industry’s most prominent advocate for implementing sustainable business practices, Ms De Marco is an experienced hotelier, former Executive Director of the International Tourism Partnership, a consultant and researcher.
The world of tourism is increasingly aware of the need to offer eco credentials and to brand products accordingly. This segment will highlight successful operations that have transitioned to a ‘green brand’ and how it translates to a business benefit.
Gary Groenewold – Vice President, Westrec marinas
Westrec Marinas is considered one of the most comprehensive and authorative source of marina operating information in the business. Gary heads operations, business development and acquisitions for Westrec Marinas throughout Florida, the Caribbean and South and Central America.
For the last 15 years he has worked on many marina development and consulting projects, with first-hand involvement in design, construction and operation of marina facilities. One of Marina 2009’s most popular presenters, Gary will again share his vast experience.
