The theme for Marinas 2011 is New Horizons.

Every two years the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) conduct  an internationally significant   marinas conference and exhibition. Each time the event grows in participation numbers and international stature.Despite the GFC Marinas 2009 attracted over 400 participants with 20% of attendees from countries outside Australia. The detailed program for the international conference and exhibition is being finalized and the call papers is underway (see call for papers information) it is anticipated there will be a focus on topics including: lessons from the GFC, new techniques – new technologies, maintenance programs, upland boat storage, dredging, managing risk, know your customer, marina management structures - commercial, club and strata title; cooperative marketing and industry/government partnerships. A choice of field trips, the Marina of the Year Awards and many networking opportunities will be an important part of the program.
